SkinPen is the first American-FDA-cleared and Australian-TGA-approved microneedling medical device used to help with the treatment of surgical scars, acne scars, enlarged pores, wrinkles and stretch marks. In as few as three minimally invasive treatments spaced 30 days apart, the appearance can be improved and you can step out with confidence.
How Does SkinPen MicroNeedling work?
The microneedles puncture the skin and create tiny micro injuries that are not visible to the naked eye. It creates thousands of tiny microchannel that stimulate your body’s natural wound healing process, while minimising cellular damage. This stimulates tissue regeneration from inside out – collagen is stimulated, scar tissue is remodelled, while keeping the overall structure of the skin intact.

Phase I: Inflammation
Piercing the skin triggers your immune system to cleanse the wound, remove debris, increase blood flow and begin to create new tissue.
Phase II: Proliferation
The wound is rebuilt with new granulation cells, which are part of the extracellular matrix. Additionally, a new network of blood vessels develops.
Phase III: Remodeling
The wound is replaced with new dermal tissues and blood vessels.
What is SkinPen™ ?
When using SkinPen™, the process of Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT) is instigated through the breaking of the old and damaged strands of collagen in target tissues via microneedling. This leads to the production of new collagen, which improves the structure and function of the skin while improving its appearance. By utilising CIT, skin concerns such as acne scars, surgical scars and enlarged pores may be treated. As well as these, it can aid with cosmetic concerns such as fine lines, wrinkles and general rejuvenation. It generally takes up to 3 months before a physical improvement can be seen, and multiple treatments may be required to achieve desirable results.
SkinPen™ is safe for all skin types. The treatment takes around 30 minutes to complete, however we do recommend the application of a topical anaesthetic cream for 30 minutes prior to the treatment to make the process more comfortable.
In order to achieve optimal results, we go through the process of ‘skin priming’ during the consultation. Appropriate skin priming is essential prior to all SkinPen™ procedures to reduce the incidence of unwanted side effects and complications from cosmetic procedures, and it also assists with the healing required by your skin after treatment.
Your treating practitioner will prepare a skin priming regime specifically designed to match your skin type and to also address your main concerns.
